Lecture Title: Use of the MucilairTM airway test, a new method for assessing safety and risks in inhaling agrochemicals.

MARIE HARGROVE, Ph.D.

  • Technical expert of the Human Safety group of Syngenta Crop Protection in Greensboro, North Carolina (USA).

  • Graduated in Pharmacology and Toxicology from East Carolina University.

  • Postdoctoral fellowship at the EPA National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory of the Environmental Public Health Division.

  • He directed and supervised numerous toxicological studies in vivo that characterized the respiratory and systemic effects of air pollutants in representative models of susceptible populations. Includes special focus on exposures by single or multiple pollutants, and exacerbation of allergic asthma.

  • As an expert in regulatory toxicology, he currently focuses on the supervision of studies on systemic toxicology and endocrine dysfunction, which assist in the registration of products for planting protection, through the analysis of risk to human health.
